Dakin Memorial Lecture

The endowed Dakin Memorial Lecture celebrates the works and achievement of Henry Drysdale Dakin and inspires students and young scientists. Recent speakers include Dr. Roderick MacKinnon, co-recipient of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and 2001 Nobel Prize-winner in Physiology or Medicine, Sir Paul Nurse.


Jerry March Lecture

The Jerry March Lecture, held every other year in the Fall semester, is given by a distinguished organic chemist. Jerry march was Adelphi University professor for 41 years who loved sharing his knowledge with the people around him, particularly his students. He is best known for writing Advanced Organic Chemistry, a classic text known worldwide and a mainstay for organic chemists for the last 30 years.

Our 2013-2014 Jerry March Lecture was given by Yale University Professor J. Michael McBride.
